What's happening this week?

Welcome back after a long winter break! I hope everyone had a great break. I’m so excited to get the second half of the school year started. We have a lot of fun things planned for this semester. I hope you are all ready to work hard as we finish out first grade. There will be some gradual changes throughout this semester so be on the lookout and ready to implement those changes. Of course because we are in the second semester, more responsibility and independence is expected from every student. This week we will be learning the hard & soft ‘g’ sound. This can be difficult for children to learn so please review DAILY! We will use the same concept next week with the ‘c’ sound. Please also remember to practice reading aloud with your children. It’s important children practice reading aloud in order to hear any errors they make as well as practice silent independent reading. Thanks for a great first semester. I can’t wait to see how much students grow in all areas throughout the rest of the school year!! :) I’m looking forward to another great week!
